The Hawaii Department of Health (DOH) selected the Technology Consulting practice of Public Consulting Group (PCG) to provide Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) services on its project to implement a comprehensive, multi-agency Intellectual Developmental Disabilities/Behavioral Health Case Management System (IDD/Behavioral Health CMS). The IDD/Behavioral Health CMS will interface with other Medicaid assets to promote the goals of Hawaii’s Medicaid Enterprise System. The DOH operates the Medicaid 1915(c) Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Waiver for individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD).

PCG’s scope of work includes evaluating the IDD/Behavioral Health CMS against system requirements, user needs, industry standards, and best practices. IV&V activities serve to provide an early warning of technical risks and deviations from project and contract requirements. These activities will allow the project team to take the corrective actions necessary to support overall project success. The solution is scheduled to go live in August 2019.
